Marriage Equality

"Same Sex Weddings.......or, as I like to call them......weddings!" 

I can't remember the first time I saw that quote, but it resonated with me so strongly. 

Being a gay woman, I was an active supporter of the push for Marriage Equality.
Not just for myself and my partner but also because I strongly believe that every single person
has the right to be get married and celebrate their love in front of family and friends. 

So, to answer the question, do I support and am I happy to officiate same sex weddings....HELL YES! 

One of the things that excites me the most about Marriage Equality is that there is no rule book.

As a community and individual couples and indeed as a Celebrant, we can create new traditions and customs.

I can't wait to meet you, hear your story and play a part in your wedding day. 

My own wedding* was a comedy of minor catastrophes on a 47 degrees Celsius day in Las Vegas.

​The brides were hot and the fake Elvis sweating in gold polyester! 

We had no input into  our vows (that would have cost the equivalent of four cocktails...!)
and so are destined to uphold the promise of never stepping on each other’s blue suede shoes! 

In what was indeed a comical day, what was important was standing with the love of my life
and committing to being Partners For Life.

* I only use the asterisk when I say wedding as this was a non-legally binding wedding. Our certificate is signed by Elvis himself!
