Custom Celebrations By Dee - Terms and Conditions - my serious face captured above by the brilliant team at White Tree Photography. The less romantic, but important Terms and Conditions of booking me as your Celebrant. By paying your invoice and securing your date, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions
The Celebrant, Custom Celebrations By Dee, agrees:
To provide Registered Marriage Celebrant services to the Couple in accordance with the Code of Practice for Marriage celebrants as set out by the Attorney General of Australia.
To attend and conduct the ceremony at the agreed time, date and place.
In the unlikely event that the Celebrant is not able to officiate because of illness or other emergency, the Couple will be advised as soon as practicable and the Celebrant will endeavour to arrange a replacement Celebrant at cost to the Celebrant.
The celebrant commits to refunding the booking fee if for any reason she is unable to perform the ceremony.
To provide a draft of the ceremony one month to the ceremony date, providing the Couple has provided the information required to complete the ceremony, as set out in the Couple Questionnaire and Celebrant Meetings.
The Couple agrees:
To pay the non-refundable booking fee of $400 once this agreement has been signed. This holds the time and date for the ceremony and ensures that the celebrant will take no other bookings for that date.
To pay the balance due one month prior to the ceremony.
To provide the Celebrant with all original documentation requested no later than a week prior to the ceremony, including any accredited translation documentation requested by the Celebrant.
If the requested documentation is not presented to the Celebrant in the agreed upon time frame the Celebrant may not be able to attend the ceremony.
Acknowledges that they will return the questions required for the Celebrant to create the ceremony no later than two months prior to the ceremony.
To recognise that the Celebrant performs other ceremonies and that any change of date, time or location, without first notifying the Celebrant may create a conflict with the Celebrant's schedule. The Celebrant reserves the right to terminate the agreement and retain the booking fee should she be unable to conduct the ceremony due to the change.
To acknowledge that if the ceremony is to be changed to an alternative location that one of the Couple will personally speak to the Celebrant by phone to advise the change in location and provide sufficient time for the Celebrant to travel to the new location.
Acknowledge that they are not to arrive at the ceremony appearing to be inebriated or under the influence of any other substance, otherwise the Celebrant is lawfully not authorised to solemnise the marriage. The call is at the Celebrant’s judgement. The two witnesses must also appear sober and not under the influence of any other substance otherwise alternative official witnesses must be used.
To advise the Celebrant as soon as is practicable if either of them is taking prescribed medication which may change their demeanour during the ceremony.
If a cancellation or change is made less than 48 hours prior to the ceremony, the entire fee as contracted will be due.
Acknowledge that a notice of cancellation of ceremony must be given to the Celebrant in writing.
Acknowledges that if either of the couple are late for the scheduled ceremony by more than 1 hour without fair reason, the celebrant may not be able to perform the ceremony.
That if the ceremony is delayed through no fault of the Celebrant which results in the Celebrant incurring extra charges, such as parking fees, the Couple will reimburse the Celebrant.
That in the event of the delays mentioned above, the Couple will liaise with the Celebrant to mutually agree on a later time and place for the Celebrant to complete the ceremony for an extra fee payable in advance.
The use of the Celebrant’s PA system is subject to favourable weather conditions and it is up to the discretion of the Celebrant to make that judgement.
Acknowledges and agrees that where the Celebrant’s PA system is used, the Celebrant undertakes to use her best endeavours to ensure the PA is fully charged, functional and tested prior to the ceremony, however the Couple acknowledge that equipment may malfunction from time to time and should the PA fail at any time prior, during, or after the ceremony, the Celebrant will not be held responsible.
The couple undertake to provide the Celebrant with accurate information, and acknowledge that a penalty may be imposed for making false declaration.
Acknowledge that the Celebrant will not conduct a ceremony at a location which, in the Celebrant’s opinion, is dangerous or would place any person attending the ceremony at risk or harm or injury.
Acknowledge that if a replacement Celebrant is required, the replacement Celebrant is required to be in possession of the NOIM and sight all original documents that the first Celebrant sighted, as well as witness the parties sign the Declarations of No Legal Impediment to Marriage, even if this means the Couple needs to sign these declarations for a second time.
If the replacement Celebrant cannot sight the original documents, the marriage cannot be solemnised and a commitment ceremony may be offered instead. The marriage will then be solemnised at a later time once all original documents have been sighted.
The Celebrant may bring a "roadie" to assist with transport and setting up speaker. This assistant will be dressed appropriately for your wedding and will blend in with other guests towards the back of the ceremony space.
Any photos taken by the Celebrant's assistant of the venue, celebrant and couple, may be shared on Custom Celebrations By Dee's social media and website, after a period of 3 days to allow the couple to first post photos.
